The 25 year old from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scored a big win in the Classic Luge final at Newton’s Playground in Bathurst, Australia. He streaked to victory as his three rivals crashed in “Forest’s Elbow” behind him. Cameron Scott of Australia extracted himself from the carnage to finish second and Will Stephenson of Great Britain was third.

In Street Luge Australian Nick Duffield continued with his comeback and completely dominated the race. Duffield was the number one qualifier and finished first in all four of his racing heats to take the win. He owned Mount Panorama this weekend. Finishing in second was Australian David Kelly. Earning his second podium of the weekend was Abdil “Furlong” Mahdzan from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After winning the Classic Luge race on Saturday Abdil turned in another great performance. Rounding out the top four was Bill Smrtic of the United States.

Downhill Down-Under! http://www.street-luge.com/ Thu, 06 Mar 2008 18:54:02 EST http://www.street-luge.com.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=759 McPhillamy Park, on top of Mount Panorama and overlooking the entire Bathurst Region, is currently undergoing a transformation from idle, scenic lookout/picnic spot to a gravity playground for competitors & spectators alike.

Meanwhile the first of 2,500 hay bales were being carefully placed along the stretch of road that is bound to claim more than its fair share of on-track competitors this coming weekend.

The buzz around Bathurst is becoming infectious as we all await the arrival of the approximate 250 competitors and 6-7,000 spectators.

Good luck to all the riders and competitors racing at Newtons Playground this weekend.
