Cool - it will be great to have you there. Dr. No is going to run the start and Bob may even show up! And it is closer than Madison (but I still miss that race).

see you soon!!!

Hey Chris, had a quick look at the hotel listings in the area, man their prices are steep! Any recommendations for cheap places to stay with the wife and kids?

Hey Nick,

Well, the ilovedh website lists our camping option:

http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24487.html
this campsite is about 30 minutes away from the race.
North-South Lake

Address: County Route 18, Haines Falls, NY 12436
GPS Info. (Latitude,Longitude): 42d11’54.23″N, 74d02’41.86″W
Campground Phone: (518)589-5058
Regional Office Phone: (518)357-2289
Camping Fee: $22

Also you can look into motels around the NYS Thruway intersection with Rt 23.
Rt 23 has some motels on the way to Windham as well. And the town of Hunter is about 7 miles away, they have some motels too.
There should be plenty of available rooms in the summer.

Or rent a condo with the family (or friends) at Windham for the weekend, and stay right on the hill.

It's gonna be great, see you there.

Where are all the lugers? I got 3 guys signed up for luge?

This is going to be such a great hill for us. We just got IGSA sanctioning - Dr. No will be our official! and the cool part - RFID timing for qualifiers - we will be able to have several hours of qualifying, but it will be just like a normal practice day. Multiple laps of qualifying - best time used for seeding!

Unfortunately the scheduling doesn't work for me either as it's too closely scheduled to Maryhill and too far away to be practical. September (like PEC 2011) would've worked better.

we will be trying a new radio receiver at the finish, so there will be no rumble strip at the finish. The timing company thinks the idea is very cool, and the factory is sending out a tech to help us out. The idea of an all day qualifier is fun. You can try different lines/setups and get instant results.

Depending on the field size, we may run gsi points style, so everyone gets at least 4 races.

5 hairpin turns is .8 miles this hill is going to be so much fun.

I'm gonna be there... just gotta get some cash first... pretty broke these days. I'll be tossing in a classic luge and a Noreaster as prizes, too.
