New Luge

Postby ltbaylor » Thu May 23, 2013 1:13 pm

Well here it is. It has steel truck mounts with wooden connecting slats. Topped off with a fiberglass fairing. The fairing I made in my bath tub to keep the dust in one area using only a piece of metal, a Dremel, and sand paper. I also made the fairing with the idea that somewhere somehow its going to get smashed off. So i didn't put much time into it. I still have to do some high speed tests, but it worked beautifully at approx. 30mph.

Costs-
$20-Metal
$20-CNC plasma cutting
$20-Fiberglass
$20-Epoxy resin
$20 Foam core
$20 misc costs (hardware,Spray paint,etc)
---------
$120 USD

Unfortunately I forgot to re-size the pics on upload so they're huge if I put them directly on here.
