i wasnt really serious about the sticker. but thats cool. i like both versions. but i actually perfer the first the second looks too crowed with the "dh challange" overlapping the graphic.

I definitely agree with Auld and especially since this has race potential
later on. Last year at Wally's fun run there were a lot of riders and most peeps were fine. I'm just glad we didn't run into local law enforcement since some vehicles (or atleast the one I was riding in) had open beer cans which is illegal and would have caused some problems. All I'm saying is this could hurt us in our defense.

does this mean we cant drink this time.......?

Hey guys,

Just popping in to say hi to all of you! I'm going to be trying to make it, it may be my last get together in the states before I move off to Europe. Hope to see you guys soon!

P.S. How is Ian recovering from his crash that one day? Is he going to be riding with us again?

I've got a couple things, I'll try to make it short...

1. Hit Man, the sticker looks great, sign me up if it actually gets made.

2. I'm willing to chip in on the U-haul if need be. I've got a truck, but with 19 men in the back of a Tacoma, we'd be riding a wheelie all the way back up mtn.

3. I would definately back the idea of staying in Dillard, for 2 reasons...

a. The Dillard House!!! The best southern cooking within 100 miles, and it's great for big groups: www.dillardhouse.com (click on dining)

b. Dillard is closer to the mtns, and actually only about an hour away from where I usually ride (around hwy 130 in SC) There is definate potential in the direction of Highlands and Cashiers; if you wanted to do some more exploring. At the very least, it's worth checking out on Google Earth.

4. The only riding I have ever done is outlaw, granted I've only ever riden with 1 other guy on the road... and by the way, he's gonna make it 20.

5. Hotel info??? We should be able to get a group rate, yeah.

6. Somebody better bring some orange cones, a hard hat, and a DETOUR sign!

7. Skarecrow, I'm homebuilt all the way!

...okay, it was more than a couple.

Clayton, we have a complete list of expected riders coming out soon. I still need everyone who has not done so yet to email your name, cell, and email address for the contact list. This will only be sent via email and not posted on this board for use by all attending. Yes, Dillard house! Great Food! As far as spots to ride up around Highlands and Cashiers we always found the roads to be fairly congested so although we have scouted the roads we never made a run on them. We have plenty of runs down in the Clayton area though and you won't be dissapointed. Counting down the weeks now!

Uhaul runs 30 per day plus .89 per mile local rental for one day. Estimate around 80.00 or so per day without insurance or gas. There is a depot in Clayton. Looking into penske since Dave works for them down here in Florida. Maybe he can get a deal and drive it up there, I don't know yet. We're gonna need to reserve early though if we go the uhaul local rental route, as it's multiple days. Holiday Inn Express in Dillard is where some of us are gonna stay. It's around 75 per night. Some less expensive hotels I think south near Mountain City or North Clayton. Keep all you guys posted. List coming out soon. Get your cell, name and email to me.

Hey guys!

I am looking into transportation right now and I was wondering if any of you coming down from north of virginia with any extra space in their cars / trucks are willing to lend me a ride to the race and back. I could help pay for gas if you would like. I'm just trying to keep some options open right now! Thanks!

Dane

Ur in Roanoke, Va right? If i decide to drive down on my own from DC, i should have some room in my suv. will let you know.

On that note, anyone wanna split a room? i'm gonna try to book one at the holiday inn (although a cabin would be sweet).
