Check out SpeedView and Move! Bike Computer they work well for speed and a lot of the bike computer ones will track altitude distance traveled show you on a map and tons of other stuff. So far I like Move! the best but let me know if you find a better one. I'm using the Droid X and they work well but my friend has a Samsung Driod and his GPS doesn't seem to pick up as well as mine does and often doesn't work. I guess you gonna just have to play with different ones to find the best for you.

To having android GPS program for in my phone is actually a good idea. My friend suggested me for it but I ignore it all the time. It has a really nice services provided by united government and it is accessible by anyone with GPS receiver.

There are a half a dozen GPS speedometers (that take top and average speed and distance covered) in the Andriod market, just do a simple search for it. I think the one I use is GPS speedo. It's a handy little program and keep me from having to buy an unnecessary Garmin.
