Thanks for the WEDGE Joe_B.!!!!!

I try to do things in my own business that will not only get people started right, but make them feel good in a different way too...when I can. And I appreciate when it comes my way too. I have built four luges so far and yet the hardest thing for me to come by has been the #^+*&%! wedge helmet! So I have been riding with either of my two MX helmets and 'pfffff'ing under my breath every time; wishing I had that elusive wedge.
Chris Mcbride was cool and sent me his list of availables a couple months ago and I was nervous to order because...well...he looks just like a guy that used to beat me up in grade school  Not really!!! I was nervous due to how weird sizing can be on helmets.

Well, I waited too long and when I asked Chris again a couple weeks ago all he had left was a small I think. CRAP!!!!! AAAAARGH!!!!! He told me to check ebay(scambay)and I have....zilch...and then you are up against the auction wars...which I hate.

So I stuck a last ditch appeal on the 'buy sell' section and a few days later Joe_B PM'ed me and asked If I had "located a wedge yet? " 'NO' I responded. He said he had "an extra" and sent me pix. We guessed it would fit me since his head "is 22" and mine is 23" and it was a little loose on him.
He did not ask very much for it and then when I called him to let him know I was indeed interested, he offered it to me for Free(as in FA-REEEEEEE) . I was a bit taken back as I am totally willing to pay for it. He said he had "put in on Craigslist and nobody responded"; "it is just sitting here unused"; "like to see it go to a fellow luger." He could not have been more friendly and even took it to work and Fed Exed it to me. All I had to pay was the Fed Ex expedited shipping fee(as I hoped to have one in time for MH? and I DO  :o :D ).

He even called me to see if it came and how I liked it. It is a nice helmet and it fits me great! BUT...still...what is best and eclipses my interest and need for the wedge(now satisfied!)is just the plain out coolness of Joe's attitude and that he would do what he did for me. I have not even put the helmet away!!!! It is sitting in the front room so I can cast amazed glances at it as I pass through. I need to print up a 'thanks Joe!" decal for the back!? Ha! What is cool about it even more is that, as much as I; am into SL and have enjoyed EVERY moment of building and riding(and yet to come!); this forum and the cool vids many have posted here and elsewhere...I will never forget as I am bombing down whatever road where and who this helmet came from.

I believe it is not just what we have or do...but HOW we go about doing it. I have not met Joe yet but I know already HOW he goes about things...in some sense. Before, I just thought I needed the helmet so I could be more 'complete' in my gear. But my other helmets 'work'...just not as well. And this one the wedge not only fills the bill for SL, but it has the 'aura' of how it came to me and that kind of stuff matters to me. I do not have a lot of stuff...but what I have I use. So if it came to me or happened in a cool/unusual way on top of the acquisition aspect...so much the better.
Joe and I both could not quite make Memorial Day Fun-run. And we are both bummed about it! But we are planning on being there in 2011 and I will look forward to meeting Joe! And the rest that I can. I do most of my business over the internet. I don't get to meet 99.9% of the people I nevertheless hope will trust and do business with me. I put honesty across as much as I can in my online videos; what I can do extra for them. I get thanked a lot for that and have worked hard and long for the rep.
THIS time...it comes back to me when I least expected it and even better. It does feel good too!
This helmet kinda makes me feel like I 'won' an Oscar! :D I think I will dig out a hidden place for it in my crawlspace. First...gotta make a visor. It is going to be fun to work on this because it is actually here TO work on! Still amazed!

Thanks Joe! I sent you some Taco Bell take out. Least I could do.(Watch your mailbox and you may need to warm it up in the micro-wave.)
I believe in U.F.O.'s....Because I RIDE one!
